It seems that actor Saif Ali Khan's ambitious film "Agent Vinod" is going to be a real challenge for him and his girlfriend and actress Kareena Kapoor.
The spy-flick directed by Sriram Raghavan received a mix reviews from various film critics on its opening day.
The first challenge for both the actors ahead is that the film needs to collect Rs. 30 crore which is an achievable figure. But considering its mediocre opening, it is going to be a tough feat.
On the other hand, amidst speculation about its prospective Box Office opening, the film opened with 50-60 percent seat occupancy at multiplexes and registered around 30-40 percent at single screens. It is an average opening.
Saif Ali Khan, who is also the a co-producer of the movie, had earlier said that team "Agent Vinod" expected a strong opening for the most-hyped film and want Rs 200 crore business at the Box Office.
Dinesh Vijan, co-producer of the film, said: "The film has been made for Rs 50 crores and 12 crores went for marketing totalling to 62 crores. Out of which we have already recovered 50 percent as music and satellite rights have been sold for around 30 crores."
Actress Vidya Balan's latest film "Kahaani," which has declared a super hit, continues to run "strong" at the box office. This might affect the collections of "Agent Vinod."
In two weeks, "Kahaani," a female-centric film with a Rs 8-crore budget, collected around Rs 43 crore from the Indian Box Office. So far the film has earned around Rs. 75 crore at domestic and international Box Office.
On the other hand, it's a matter of prestige for Saif who is also a Khan in Bollywood's so called mighty Khan brigade (Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan).
Starting from Aamir Khan to Salman, the remaining actors are currently at the Rs. 200-crore club.
Aamir's "3 Idiots'" (2009) grossed more than Rs. 300 crore at the box-office worldwide, Salman's "Dabangg" (2010) and "Bodyguard" (2011) collected around Rs. 215 crore and Rs 230 crore respectively while Shah Rukh Khan's latest flicks "Ra.One" (2011) and "Don 2" (2011) collected Rs. 202 crore and Rs. 210 crore respectively.
Now the question is - Will Saif make Rs 200 crore with his ambitious film and join the double century club?
