After Ajith Kumar fans played a special role in helping "Yennai Arindhaal" become a trending topic on Twitter, Vijay's fans have now stepped in to popularise "Kaththi" on the micro-blogging site.
The craze for Ajith Kumar's film reached new heights on Twitter last week, when fans couldn't stop raving about "Yennai Arindhaal" and its previous name "Thala 55". The unveiling of the movie title turned out to be an interesting topic for cinegoers in Tamil to debate over, and the three back-to-back poster releases added to the excitement.
Following in the footsteps of Ajith's fans, Vijay's followers started a similar trend on Monday, 3 November. Soon after Anirudh Ravichander revealed that "Kaththi" has crossed the 100-crore mark, Ilayathalpathy's fans poured in with congratulatory messages for the actor and the team with the hash tag - #Kaththihitsfastest100cr.
Throughout the day, fans of Vijay sung praises of the actor and talked about how big the actor is when compared to his contemporaries. These activities ensured that the Tamil movie became a hot topic on Twitter.
"Kaththi" Scores Century at the Box Office
Vijay's "Kaththi" has reached a century at the box office. The Tamil movie on Sunday, 2 November became the fourth Tamil flick to have made 100 crore at collection centres. Earlier, Rajinikanth starrer "Sivaji" and "Enthiran" had achieved this target along with Vijay's "Thuppakki". It has to be noted that the movies of only two actors (Rajinikanth and Vijay) have achieved this feat in Kollywood.
The underlining part of the story is that Vijay's "Kaththi" has not done good business at the domestic box office but has also won hearts at the international box office.
