Ajith, who is currently working with Gautham Menon in "Yennai Arindhaal", is all set to commence shooting for his next project with director Siva soon.
The film, referred to as "Thala 56" (Ajith's 56th film), is expected to go on floors in January 2015. This is will be the second time that Ajith will be teaming up with the director, post the release of "Veeram" in January 2014.
While "Veeram" was set in a rural area, "Thala 56" will have an urban backdrop, a source close to the actor told The Times of India.
After "Yennai Arindhaal," Ajith will once again be romancing two heroines in "Thala 56." Earlier, there were reports claiming that Hansika will be playing the female lead opposite him. However, the director refuted the rumours and confirmed that the film's female lead has not been finalised.
AM Ratnam, who is bank-rolling Ajith's "Yennai Arindhaal," will reportedly be producing the actor's next film with Siva. An official announcement regarding the project as well as the cast and crew details are still awaited.
Meanwhile, the shooting of "Yennai Arindhaal" is going on at a brisk pace and is expected to be completed soon. Recently, the first-look posters of the film were released and received grand response from the fans.
Now, they are looking forward to the release of the teaser. Buzz is that the teaser will release this month, but again there is no official confirmation.
"Yennai Arindhaal" is touted as an action thriller with Ajith appearing in four different looks. Anushka Shetty, Trisha Krishnan and Arun Vijay will also be seen in pivotal roles. Harris Jayaraj is scoring the music, while Dan MacArthur is handling the cinematography.
The film is expected to hit the screens by December this year or January next.
