After the overwhelming success of blockbuster "Yeh Jawaani Hai Hai Deewani" ex-lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are set to reunite for director Intiaz Ali's next film.
If reports are to be believed, Imtiaz is said to have roped in Deepika Padukone as the female lead opposite Ranbir in his untitled project.
It is said that the "Rockstar" director was scouting for an apt heroine for the Kapoor lad and had even considered Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. In the end, Ranbir and Deepika's fabulous on-screen chemistry in "YJHD" won over all other choices.
"They haven't put things on paper yet, but after YJHD, Imtiaz is sure about Deepika," a source revealed to Hindustan Times,
"What went in Deepika's favour is her chemistry with Ranbir in YJHD."
"Right now, none of them want to go on record, since a number of actors are vying for the part. But internally, the makers have decided on Deepika. Ranbir has also been sounded off about the same," the insider added.
The shooting of the film is expected to start from early 2014 since, "By that time, the hype over YJHD would be over," and "Imtiaz can start his film on a new note," said the source.
Meanwhile, luck seems to be on Deepika's side as she has been cast as the leading lady in the "Dostana" sequel, putting rest to the rumours of Katrina Kaif being signed for the same.
However, Dippy is said to be in a great dilemma since the Karan Johar film collides with Mani Ratnam's love story, for which she was approached recently. Also both the films are set to go on floors at same time of the year.
"Now, Deepika has to choose between Karan Johar and Mani Ratnam. It is going to be a difficult decision. As it is, she has other assignments," a source told The Times of India.
