Sunny Deol was once one of the most sought after actors in Bollywood, but with series of flops in the recent past, the macho hero's career seems to have hit rock bottom.
Sunny's latest release Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se has not just bombed at the box office, but apparently gave a bad name to the Deol family.
"Where is the dignity that one expects from an actor of Dharmendra's stature?" The Asian Age quoted a film-maker as saying. Dharmendra played the character of an old man, who is crazy about ladies and alcohol.
The report also stated that with the failure of Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se, there is very little hope for Sunny's career to witness a revival. All of the last five movies of the 61-year-old actor turned out to be disasters at the box office. The films include Singh Saab The Great, Dishkiyaoon, I Love New Year, Ghayal Once Again, Poster Boys. And now Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se also failed to impress the audience.
His next film is Bhaiyaji Superhit, which also is likely to witness similar fate. Some believe that only popular directors like Karan Johar or Rohit Shetty can save Sunny's dying career.
"Bhaiyaji Superhit is a project that's dead on arrival. It has Sunny paired with the down-and-out Preity Zinta. His career needs the miraculous intervention of either Rohit Shetty or Karan Johar," the publication quoted a trade analyst as saying.
Meanwhile, Sunny has also been busy directing his son Karan Deol for his debut movie Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas.
