The shooting of Vijay's superhit movie "Kaththi" was kick-started in Kolkata. Now, Ajith's next movie, which is presently called by the name "Thala 56", is likely to begin its schedule in the capital city of West Bengal.
If latest reports are to be believed, director Siruthai Siva with his assistants is busy finalising locations for the shooting of "Thala 56". The director has actually short-listed a few locations in Kolkata to kick-start the shooting.
Siruthai Siva is likely to be in Kolkata for some more time as he has to find a few more locations for the shooting. The filming of "Thala 56" will begin on 14 April for Tamil New Year.
It may be recalled that Vijay's "Kaththi" had hit the floors at the Kalighat Kali Temple with a formal pooja. Some of the important scenes were shot in Kolkata.
Kollywood filmmakers had often preferred Mumbai when they opt to shoot films outside South India. AR Murugadoss broke the trend with "Kaththi" and now yet another biggie is set to be shot in Kolkata. It might pave way for a new trend of shooting films in the West Bengal's capital.
Coming back to "Thala 56", it is a stylish urban-centric movie, which is produced by AM Rathnam. It is reported that Anirudh Ravichander, for the first time, will score music for an Ajith movie.
The hunt for the female lead has continued even as there are strong rumours that Shruti Haasan has bagged the movie to play the love interest of Ajith in "Thala 56". Other details about the cast and crew are under wraps.
Meanwhile, Ajith, who became a proud father of a baby boy recently, is basking in the success of "Yennai Arindhaal directed by Gautham Menon.
