Actor Thambi Ramaiah has signed one more project to add to his line-up of big films. After bagging Ilayathalapathy Vijay's upcoming movie, which is being referred to as "Vijay 60," the actor has been signed up to play a key role in Ajith Kumar's next film.
Reports say that Thambi Ramaiah has signed the movie recently and he is all set to join the shoot soon. The actor, who is known for doing comedy and emotional scenes with equal ease, had earlier shared screen space with Ajith in films like "Veeram" and "Vedalam."
Among the other cast members, Anushka Shetty is said to be playing the love interest of Ajith in the spy-thriller. This is her second film with the actor after "Yennai Arindhaal." The latest buzz is that Kajal Aggarwal has also been approached to play an important role.
Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music for the film, while Vetri is reportedly handling cinematography, and Anthony Ruben is the editor of "Thala 57."
The film is finally ready to hit the floors. The makers launched the film with a simple pooja at the producer's office in Chennai on Wednesday, July 6. The shooting of the movie will commence in Bulgaria in the last week of July.
"Thala 57" is the third movie of Ajith to be directed by Siruthai Siva. They had first worked together in "Veeram." Following the success of the movie, they teamed up again in "Vedalam," which turned out to be the biggest hit of 2015. The upcoming movie is bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films, which is a reputed banner in Kollywood.
The production house has bankrolled a number of critically-acclaimed and commercially successful movies in its three-decade existence in the film industry. Kamal Haasan and Sridevi-starrer "Moonram Pirai" was its first film way, which was released back in 1983. Its notable hits include the much-acclaimed "Uthama Puthiran" and "Kalyana Parisu."
