Anushka Shetty, who is busy with Ajith's upcoming Tamil movie "Thala 55", has not yet acted in a Kannada movie in spite of getting a few offers from Sandalwood.
Now, the actress has been offered to play the female lead role in "Masterpiece" opposite Rocking Star Yash.
Speaking to the Bangalore Mirror, director Manju Mandavya has said that they have approached Anushka and Priya Anand to pair up with Yash. "We are in touch with both of them. Finally, it is the matching of available dates of the stars and our schedule that will determine who will play the leading lady," the director told the daily.
Suhasini Maniratnam has also been roped in to play as Yash's mother in the upcoming Kannada movie.
Earlier, many from Sandalwood had approached Anushka. Recently, she was offered to play in a Darshan starrer, but refused to be part of the film citing date issues. Now, people are curiously looking forward to see whether she can take up the latest offer and make her Kannada debut.
The upcoming movie's shooting is likely to start in November or December. The film will take off once Yash completes the shooting of "Mr and Mrs Ramachari", according to Mandavya. However, the director himself has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues for "Masterpiece".
Meanwhile, Anushka is currently working on multiple projects. Her next movie, which is tentatively called "Thala 55", is directed by Gautham Menon. She is also part of Rajinikanth starrer "Lingaa" directed by KS Ravikumar along with SS Rajamouli directorial Telugu movie "Baahubali" starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati.
