Just months after Sri Reddy made explosive allegations of sexual exploitation against Tollywood stalwarts, RX 100 actress Payal Rajput has now said that a producer has openly sought sexual favours from her in exchange of a role in his upcoming film.
"After 'RX 100' became a big hit, I did expect offers to come my way. A producer approached me with a story and I greenlighted to do the role. However, he openly sought favours from me. He was expecting me to commit to doing things beyond acting. I was shocked and bluntly said no," Payal Rajput told Sakshi.com in an interview without mentioning the name of the producer.
Born to a Punjabi family in New Delhi, the 27-year-old actress sent ripples across Tollywood film industry by taking up a bold role in her debut film RX 100. She played the female lead Indu in the love story which was directed by Ajay Bhupathi. The movie was made with a budget of approximately Rs 2 crore but went on to collect more than Rs 10 crores at the domestic box office.
Expressing her disappointment with the producer's sexual advancement, Payal said, "Though I played a bold role in RX 100, it does not mean that I will 'compromise' for a role. I am not shy but I can't kiss to everyone. I didn't come to the film industry for that."
She further added, "The producers are thinking that I will compromise on her character. Whatever I have achieved in the film Industry, only because of my talent not of 'compromising my character'."
Now it remains to be seen whether Payal will name her sexual predator or keep him a secret.
