Ever since their debut as solo artists and as a unit, iKON's Bobby and WINNER's Song Mino have been getting rave reviews for their music. The two YG Entertainment artists, however, revealed that it wasn't always easy.
In an interview, Song Mino said that they received immense support prior to their debut and this, in many ways, kept them going. In fact, Mino added that other members of WINNER want to go solo after his debut.
While recounting several anecdotes, Mino said: "Every time [Bobby and I] were working on music for MOBB, [Kang Seung Yoon] would hound me, saying that we need to make music quickly and promote so he can release music again (laughs)," as reported by Soompi.
Bobby and Mino said that the two often disagreed while working on their unit, MOBB. The artists revealed that they share different ideas, but added that it was a learning experience because they compromised after listening to the other person.
However, getting approval from Yang Hyun Suk was an altogether different kind of learning experience. "We've never gotten an okay the first time we play a song for Yang Hyun Suk. At the very least, he asks us to change a word. Because when it comes to music, he's very astute. I ended up reworking 'HOLUP!' more than twice," Bobby said.
"He has expectations of us, and that's why he says what he does. We believe that as he gives us more suggestions, the songs get closer to perfection," he added.
