After "Singham Returns," Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan will pair up for Milan Luthria's upcoming drama film. Ajay and Kareena have been finalised as the lead pair for "Baadshaho."
Actor Vidyut Jamwal, who plays a pivotal role in Milan's film, confirmed to DNA that Kareena is paired opposite part Ajay in the film.
"My next film is with Milan Luthria. I am doing Baadshaho with Ajay and Kareena," Vidyut told DNA.
Earlier, names of Shruti Haasan and Lisa Haydon for the leading lady role surfaced online. There were reports that Shruti walked out of the project, as she was not happy with the final script.
"Shruti and Milan had quite a few meetings. Shruti seemed happy about the film's story and how her role was described in those meetings. Hence she agreed verbally but also requested to see a final script before signing the dotted line, as it is standard norm today," a source close to Shruti told IANS.
"However, once the latest narration of the revised script draft was shared with her, her character didn't seem like how it was narrated to her initially as it didn't quite add as much to the story anymore. She didn't feel like this character cut it for her even though she was really looking forward to working with Milan Luthria," the source added.
But Vidyut's confirmation has put all the rumours to rest. This will be for the first time Kareena will work with Vidyut, while with Ajay she last shared screen space in 2015 in Rohit Shetty's film "Singham Returns."
The storyline of "Baadshaho" is loosely based on the 1975 emergency. "This is an EXPLOSIVE idea, based loosely on true events that transpired during the Emergency. The action and music are rustic and set in Rajasthan," Catch News quoted Luthria's official statement
Slated for a Jan. 26, 2017 release, Ajay-Kareena starrer will clash with Hrithik Roshan's
"Kaabil" at the box office.
