Tinsel town is abuzz with rumours that "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" director Ayan Mukerji's next venture will once again feature Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role.
Adding to the report, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen playing the role of a superhero like Hrithik Roshan's "Krrish" character and that of Shah Rukh Khan in "Ra.One".
The film will be challenging for Ranbir and Ayan as both will be trying their hand at a totally different genre.
Although no formal announcements have been made, a source close to the project said, "Ranbir trusts Ayan's abilities. He has enjoyed working with the filmmaker so far, and is looking forward to their next outing together. This film will be mounted on a much bigger scale than their earlier projects," Mumbai Mirror reported.
As per reports, Ayan is presently holidaying in Barcelona where he is also working on the film's script. As soon as he returns to Mumbai, he will discuss the script and other details with Ranbir.
If the venture takes off, then this will be Ranbir and Ayan's third project together. The duo collaborated for the first time in Ayan's directorial debut "Wake Up Sid" which was a huge hit. Their second project "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" which also starred Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kalki Kochelin was a blockbuster and still continues to do good business at the domestic box office.
"Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" was declared a blockbuster after it made to the elite ₹100 crore club within days of its release. The film needs to rake in another ₹12 crore to reach the ₹200 crore mark set by "3 Idiots" and "Ek Tha Tiger".
