After Separation Rumours, Rahul Mahajan-Dimpy Ganguly File for Divorce

Actors Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Ganguly have filed for legal separation with mutual consent.

The couple, who got married in a reality show in 2010, was under scanner in the recent days as reports hinted trouble in their married life. And now a report by The Times of India has stated that Mahajan and Ganguly, who have been living separately for months, filed for divorce on Thursday.

The report further carried that the estranged couple sought to do away with the mandatory six months counselling after filing the divorce and requested immediate legal separation. However, Family Court Judge IM Bohari dismissed the couple's request and put the duo on the counselling period during which a counsellor will regularly meet both the parties and try to assess the situation.

The request for the urgent separation came up since Ganguly plans to move abroad in the coming months.

A previous report had carried that Ganguly has already moved out of the relation. She is said to have been living away from Mahajan for about a year and is currently staying with her boyfriend in Dubai. The report further claimed that the model's present love interest is an old friend of hers.

Mahajan and Ganguly's marriage life has been in public glare ever since they wedded on the television show, 'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega' . Only four months after their marriage, the model had accused her actor husband of domestic violence and moved to her parent's home. The couple later got back after Mahajan apologised.

But the divorce reports prove that Mahajan is unlucky second time. It should be recalled that the 38-year-old was previously married to his childhood sweetheart Shweta Singh. But the couple parted ways after Singh complained of domestic violence.
