Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is riding high on success with his recent release Sanju. The biopic is based on the life of Sanjay Dutt and is directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
Sanju managed to join Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavat Rs 300 crore club. And, with the dream run at the box office, Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor are in competition once again. The actors will soon be appearing in big-budget productions and are likely to clash at the box office.
According to a report by Asianage, Sanju's incredible success has masked Ranbir Kapoor's recent phase of flops. Also, it was Ranveer Singh who was the makers' first choice to play the film's leading Sanju. Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra has even gone on the record and admitted that he wanted Ranveer, not Ranbir.
Earlier, Ranbir had made his debut in Bollywood with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya, after which Bhansali had approached Ranbir with a lot of other films but the actor rejected them all. He even told his close friends that he will never work with Bhansali again. Looks like Ranbir lost out on a chance of maybe playing the role of Allauddin Khilji in Padmavat.
Ranbir Kapoor will appear in Brahmastra with his rumoured girlfriend Alia Bhatt. The film is being directed by Ayaan Mukherji and also stars Amitabh Bachchan. The film is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
Ranveer will soon appear with Saif Ali Khan's daughter Sara Ali Khan in Rohit Shetty's Simmba.
