The movie is based on the life of the legendary cricketer and revolves around the extraordinary career of the batsman who retired from international cricket in 2013. It also touches upon Sachin's personal life.
Movie buffs and celebrities have lauded the way the makers have recreated the inspirational and emotional journey of the master blaster. A large section of the Bollywood critics too heaped praises and said the movie had been engaging throughout.
However, looks like not just a docudrama but a biopic on the master blaster's life may also be explored by the filmmakers in the near future. In a recent interview, when Sachin was questioned to name an actor who he wishes to play him if a biopic is ever made on him and Sachin responded "Aamir Khan". "I think Aamir Khan is best suited to play me. And the reason for the same is Lagaan," Sachin told Asian Age.
Sachin and Aamir have been close friends for years. The batsman also admitted that he might be biased towards the Thugs of Hindostan actor as they are good friends. "I know Aamir for many years, he is a close friend and a fabulous actor as well," he added.
If Sachin's wish comes true, Aamir-Sachin's combo will undoubtedly result in another blockbuster and will break a few box office records as well.
