James Rodriguez is the latest name on the Manchester United transfer list for next summer.
Rodriguez made a big-money move from Monaco to Real Madrid a couple of summers ago, but his career has not quite gone as sparklingly-well as he would have hoped for, particularly this season.
The appointment of Rafa Benitez as the manager this campaign has caused problems, with Rodriguez reportedly not in the best of terms with the Spaniard.
That inevitably means a transfer link away, and with Manchester United one of the richest teams in the world, they were bound to come in as well, weren't they.
Rodriguez has also been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, but Manchester United are keen to land the attacker and make him one of the marquee players in their squad, according to Fichajes.
The last time Manchester United bought a left-footed attacking midfielder, it did not go too well, with Angel Di Maria leaving for PSG after just one season.
Manchester United, if they make a move for Rodriguez in the summer, will hope the Colombia international settles in a lot better than Di Maria did, because Rodriguez, like his fellow South American, will not come cheap.
The English Premier League side have also been linked with big-money moves for several other superstars.
Manchester United are reportedly keen on Rodriguez's Real Madrid teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, while they are also keeping tabs on Barcelona duo Neymar and Luis Suarez.
Thomas Muller of Bayern Munich is another target, but the signing of the striker now looks next-to-impossible after the Germany international inked a new contract until 2021 with the Bundesliga champions on Friday.
While most of those targets will come to nought for Manchester United, they will, undoubtedly, do their best to bring in a marquee name in the next summer transfer window.
