After Rajinikanth, Thalapathy Vijay visits M Karunanidhi in Kauvery Hospital [Photos]

After Kamal Haasan, Suriya and Rajinikanth, Vijay is the latest celebrity to visit DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi.

Thalapathy met DMK working president MK Stalin, son of M Karunanidhi, and producer-actor Udhayanidhi Stalin in the hospital on Wednesday, August 1. The actor reportedly spent some time discussing the current condition of the ailing DMK patriarch.

Last evening, Rajinikanth returned from the shooting of his next movie with Karthik Subbaraj and headed directly to the hospital. "I met Stalin, Kanimozhi and (M K) Alagiri and inquired about Karunanidhi's health condition. He is the senior most political leader in the country and I wish he lives several more years," he told the reporters after meeting MK Stalin, Kanimozhi and MK Alagiri.

M Karunanidhi was hospitalised over age-related ailments last week. "He continues to maintain his vital signs with active medical support. (But) an extended period of hospitalisation will be necessary due to age related overall decline in his general health, altered liver function and haematological parameters," Aravindan Selvaraj, executive director of Chennai's Kauvery hospital, said in its latest press release released on Tuesday evening.

From AICC President Rahul Gandhi to Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, political bigwigs from across the spectrum have called on the DMK leader.

The DMK leaders have camped outside the hospital for days now and are praying for his speedy recovery.

M Karunanidhi is the tallest political leader among the present politicians in India. He was the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for five terms.
