Kangana Ranaut became a superstar overnight after the release of Vikas Bahl's "Queen" and now, she is set to appear in another women-centric film, directed by Hansal Mehta. The recent buzz is that Kangana will star in the film opposite her "Queen" co-star Rajkummar Rao.
According to a Filmfare report, Kangana and Rajkummar have been roped in for Hansal's next, "Simran." The actor has no problem starring in a women-oriented movie as he believes he has a strong character. Hansal and Rajkummar share a great bond as the latter has worked with the filmmaker in films like "CityLights," "Shahid" and "Aligarh." The shooting of "Simran" will go on floors by the next month.
Rajkummar was last seen in "Aligarh" alongside Manoj Bajpayee. The actor was earlier rumoured to make a special appearance in Aamir Khan's "Dangal." However, he later rubbished the reports. National Award winner Rajkummar has played diverse roles and he has garnered immense appreciation for all his performances.
On the other hand, Kangana won the National Award for the second time this year. She bagged the first one for her brilliant performance in "Queen" and the other for winning hearts with her role in "Tanu Weds Manu Returns."
Meanwhile, she has wrapped up the shooting of Vishal Bhardwaj's "Rangoon." She will share screen space with Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan for the first time. In "Rangoon," Saif plays the character of a filmmaker while Shahid will be seen as a soldier. Kangana plays the character of a 1940s actress named Julia. Set against the backdrop of World War II, "Rangoon" is a "Casablanca"-like love triangle.
