Poonam Bajwa is all set to make another noticeable character in her upcoming Malayalam film. The south star will be part of a campus story and will play role of an actress in her upcoming film, "Rosapookalam". The film will be directed by debutant Anil Nair.
"Poonam will don the role of an actress Lena Alexander in the campus - psychological thriller. The story spans through the journey of six friends who are on a mission to find more about an old friend, after a long hiatus. Eventually, the tour provides the gang with some interesting yet startling revelations," director Anil Nair told The Times of India
The story of the film span over two different periods, however, the director confirmed that his debut film, "Rosapookalam", is not a period film and the makers have adopted fresh style for the narration.
"It is not at all a period film, which depicts a certain age. In fact, we are planning to adopt a different kind of narration, which helps the audience to follow the story with ease," added Anil.
Poonam appeared last in an item number "Po Mone Dinesha" along with Mohanlal in his film "Peruchazhi". The actress had also appeared in Malayalam films like "China Town", "Venicile Vyaapari", "Shikari" and "Manthrikan". She is now awaiting the release of her Tamil films, "Ethiri En 3" and "Romeo and Juliet" and Kannada film "Mast Mohabat".
"Rosapookalam" also has the star cast of Vinay Forrt, Ineya, Sakthi, Sanju, Leona Lishoy and Sanal Aman. Vinay Forrt will appear in the role of a psychologist and Ineya will play his wife in the film. Veteran actors Pratap Pothen and Thalaivasal Vijay will appear in pivotal roles.
The psychological thriller would be shot in various locations of Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kozhikode and Kannur and the cinematography of the film will be done MC Ganesh Chandra.
The shooting of this multi-starrer film is expected to kick start by 9 October.
