A plethora of opportunities seems to be opening up for actress Manju Warrier. The actress, who made a sensational comeback after being in hibernation for 14 years, has now got her hands full with the best of roles. The latest news in the industry is that the actress will play lead in the upcoming movie with director Joshiy.
The news was brought out by scriptwriter Ranjan Pramod who will be scripting the movie and confirmed that the actress will play a strong character in the movie. However, the team has not yet confirmed who will play the lead opposite Manju.
Joshiy and Manju Warrier have earlier worked together for 1999 hit film "Pathram". The film is considered to be the biggest hit in Manju's career as it ran for 250 days in Kerala theatres and was also in the news for the controversies surrounding it. The movie was boycotted by leading newspaper groups Mathrubhumi and Manorama for portraying them in bad light.
Meanwhile, Joshiy is currently in the post-production stage of his upcoming Mohanlal- Amala Paul starrer "Lailaa O Lailaa" which is scheduled for a new year release. The director has also planned "Saddam Sivan" after the release of the Mohanlal starrer. Since the makers of the Manju - Joshiy movie has not yet revealed much about it, it is not known when the team will begin with its shooting.
Manju Warrier is currently shooting for Sathyan Anthikkad's movie, which is yet to be given a title, opposite Mohanlal. The film had made a lot of buzz in the industry because of its cast and crew. This movie is also scripted by Ranjan Pramod who had associated with Sathyan Athikkad for movies like "Mansinakkare" and "Achuvinte Amma". The story of the movie is by veteran actor Raveendran.
For Manju, this is her third movie with Sathyan Anthikkad. She had previously acted in Anthikkad's "Thooval Kottaram" and "Irattakittikalude Achan". Their upcoming movie is scheduled to hit the theatres for the new year.
However, it is not clear whether Manju will do Joshiy's movie soon after she is done with Anthikkad's movie. It is rumoured that the actress will also play the lead in a women-centric movie by Aashiq Abu. The film which is reportedly titled "Ragini Padmini" will also have Rima Kallingal in it.
Manju, who is now living separately from her husband and actor Dileep, has filed a petition for divorce. Also a well-known classical dancer, Manju is now shuttling between acting and her dance performances in various parts of the world.
