Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest carmaker, is leaving no stone unturned to cement its supremacy in the Indian market. The carmaker, which opened the doors of Nexa to present new experience in buying and selling in India last year, is now set to open a new chapter with its Commercial showrooms.
As the name indicates, the Commercial showrooms are designed to offer vehicles that are primarily for commercial purposes. Maruti Suzuki has recently forayed into the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment with its Super Carry, which would be the first vehicle to enter the Commercial showroom floors of the company.
Besides this, Maruti Suzuki Commercial will also welcome four other models including Eeco Flexi, Omni Flexi and the Dzire Tour, reports GaadiWaadi. With the new dealership chain, Maruti Suzuki has become the first carmaker in India to bring three different showrooms under the same umbrella. While Maruti still retains its regular dealerships, the premium offering like the S-Cross and the Baleno are sold through Nexa.
The first light commercial vehicle (LCV) from Maruti Suzuki will be sold only in Ludhiana, Kolkata and Ahmedabad initially and has been priced at Rs. 4.01 lakh, Rs. 4.11 and Rs. 4.03 lakh, respectively.
The Super Carry is powered by a 793cc, twin-cylinder diesel engine that develops 32bhp at 3500rpm and maximum torque of 75Nm at 2000rpm mated to five-speed manual transmission. The company claims that the LCV will return 22.07kmpl of mileage and has a maximum speed of 80kmph.
