After Tennis star Maria Sharapova, it's actress Hansika Motwani, who is facing online abuse from Keralites.
A few months back, five time grand slam winner was abused over her incidental remark about not knowing ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Now, the south Indian actress' Facebook page is filled with an avalanche of harangue after she confirmed the news of her Malayalam debut film as rumours.
Few days back, there were reports of Hansika doing Joshiy's film "Saddam Sivan" along with Malayalam actor Dileep. However, the actress later confirmed through her Twitter and Facebook handle that she is not part of any Malayalam film and stories surrounding this are just rumours.
"Ok clearing the air .. I ain't part of any Malayalam project :) #rumours", tweeted Hansika
Little did Hansika knew that this will infuriate the fans of Malayalam films. The actress' Facebook page is now flooded with verbal onslaught. The users not only abused her, but even made degrading remarks on her previous movies. Some even went to the extent of calling her to be "unworthy" of being an actress and questioned her for not being part of a Malayalam film.
If one goes through the Facebook comments, it is obvious that the pattern of comments, including "Who is Hansika" is similar to the ones fired on Sharapova's page earlier.
The unruly behaviour and comments have also led a heated discussion in online media about the kind of language used against the actress. Meanwhile, she is yet to comment on these tirade comments on her page.
Hansika is currently busy with the shooting of her Tamil flick "Aambala" directed by Sundar C. The film also stars Vishal, Vaibhav Reddy and Madhuurima in pivotal roles. Her last release was also Sundar's directorial film "Aranmanai". The film, which was released on 19 September received positive reviews from both critics and audience. Hansika is also awaiting the release of her other films "Meaghamann", "Uyire Uyire", "Vaalu" and "Romeo and Juliet".
