Katrina Kaif, who is currently riding high with her recently released film "Bang Bang" opposite Bollywood hunk Hrithik Roshan, has apparently bagged another film.
The buzz is that the actress has been approached to play the lead actress opposite young star Sidharth Malhotra. Producer-director Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidwani are said to have approached the actors for this ambitious project, reported The Times of India. However, no confirmation has been made as of now.
The film is a romantic love story and will be the directorial debut of Nitya Mehra under Akhtar-Sidwani's banner Excel Entertainment.
Recently, rumours were doing the rounds that Anushka Sharma has been approached for the film. Both Sharma and Malhotra have featured in a steamy new commercial ad for a coffee brand and the duo's on-screen chemistry was quite appreciated by the viewers. But with the recent development of Kaif having been approached, it appears like Sharma has opted out of the film.
There were reports that Malhotra, who rose to fame with Mohit Suri's "Ek Villain", was not the first choice of the makers. The role was earlier offered to "P.K." star Aamir Khan but due to some unknown reasons, the film rolled down to the "Student of the Year" actor.
Meanwhile, Malhotra has started shooting for Karan Johar's "Brothers", which is the remake of the Hollywood film "Warrior". The film also has Akshay Kumar and is set to hit the theatres on 2 October 2015.
On the other hand, Kaif is busy shooting for Anurag Basu's "Jagga Jasoos" opposite her alleged beau Ranbir Kapoor. The actress also has another project in hand, which is Abhishek Kapoor's "Fitoor" opposite Aditya Roy Kapur.
