Akshay Kumar is one of the few actors in the Hindi film industry who has at least four releases every year. So, it doesn't get surprising when every other day there's a report claiming he has been signed on for a project.
Filmmaker Priyadarshan told the Press Trust of India he has a film coming up with Akshay. Announced earlier this year, the film was to roll by the end of July. However, it will now begin in the first quarter of 2017 and release sometime in the latter half of the year.
"The project got slightly delayed because Akshay is busy with other films. I am in no rush. I am coming back after a long gap in a positive way. Other cast members will be finalised soon," the director told the agency adding that it will be his best ever and feature "organic, situational comedy."
If the film falls in place, it will be the actor-director duo's seventh film together after "Hera Pheri," "Garam Masala," "Bhagam Bhaag," "Bhool Bhulaiyaa," "De Dana Dan" and "Khatta Meetha."
Meanwhile, here's what Akshay is busy with:
The actor has begun "Rustom" promotions, which is set to release on Aug.12, same day as Hrithik Roshan's "Mohenjo Daro." Also, he is shooting on and off for Rajinikanth-starrer "2.0," in which he will be seen playing a mad scientist who accidentally turns himself into a havoc-wreaking crow-man. "Namastey England" is another project he will soon begin work on and has recently confirmed to essaying the role of a lawyer in "Jolly LLB 2."
"Welcome 3," "Holiday 2," "Awara Pagal Deewana 2," "Oh My God 2" and "Ikka" are some of his unconfirmed films.
