Sai pallavi is just one film old, but audience are eagerly awaiting her second release on big screen as she has became a sensation for portraying the role of Malar in Alphose Puthren-Nivin Pauly's blockbuster movie "Premam". If latest reports are to be believed, the actress has bagged the lead role in veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam's upcoming movie.
Reports suggest that Sai impressed the filmmaker during the film's audition and she is expected to play opposite Karthi in the upcoming movie, which is touted to be a romantic thriller. Rumour mills suggest that the movie is titled "Vellai Pookal" and music maestro AR Rahman will reportedly compose the music for this movie as well.
Sai's performance as Malar miss in "Premam" was well accepted by the Tamil Nadu audience and she enjoys a huge fan following in the state. "Premam" has completed its 245 days at the Chennai box office even when the film could only run for 175 days in Kerala. Therefore, if the news on Sai's movie with Mani Ratnam rings true, then the upcoming film will become one of the most awaited projects of the year.
Sai is currently busy with the shooting of the Malayalam film "Kali", which marks the comeback of actor-director duo Dulquer Salmaan and Sameer Thahir after their hit movie "Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi". The road movie tells the story of how Siddharth (Dulquer) and Anjali (Sai) meet each other during their college days and fall in love that leads to their marriage.
Scripted by Rajesh Gopinath, "Kali" also has Sunny Wayne, Chemban Vinod, Vinayakan and Soubin Shahir in significant roles and the movie is mainly shot in Kochi, Vagamon, Athirapally, Masinagudi and Gudalur.
