Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan, who received positive responses for his latest film "Drishyam", is currently in talks for the sequel of his 2012 release, "Son of Sardaar".
Buzz is that he will direct the sequel, "Sons Of Sardaar", which is based on the battle of Saragarhi.
"Ashwni Dhir was to direct the film. Then Ajay realised it would become an extremely costly project. He then roped in 'Ship Of Theseus' director, Anand Gandhi to direct the film. After that, he changed his mind and decided to helm it himself," DNA quoted a source as saying
"He wants to shoot SOS on an international scale — budget and technology-wise. He is very excited about bringing the Battle of Saragarhi to life and AJ will, in all probability, play the leader of the Sikh Regiment, Havildar Ishar Singh," the insider further added.
Devgn is also directing and producing his upcoming film "Shivaay", which is his second directorial venture after "U Me Aur Hum".
Meanwhile, after completing "Shivaay" shooting schedule in Bulgaria -- set to release next diwali -- the "Singham" actor will start shooting for "Sons Of Sardaar".
While the prequel had Sonakshi Sinha as the female lead, the makers are keen on casting another top actress in the next instalment.
Earlier, there were reports that Deepika Padukone or Katrina Kaif might feature in "SOS", but no announcements have been made yet.
