Director Rohit Shetty, who has recently delivered the blockbuster "Singham Returns" along with Ajay Devgn, is said to be busy with his upcoming project with Shah Rukh Khan.
Ever since Shetty had finalised Khan for his upcoming film, speculations regarding the lead actress have been doing the rounds.
The recent buzz suggests that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play opposite Khan, reported DNA.
If the reports are to be believed, then with Shetty's film, both Bachchan and Khan will reunite after 12 years. They last worked together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus "Devdas".
As per another report, the filmmaker was keen to bring the hit couple - Khan and Bachchan together as they have not shared the screen space for quite sometime and it would be a visual treat for the audience who wishes to see the on-screen couple together. Khan and Bachchan have also worked in Yash Raj Production's superhit "Mohabbatein".
Rumours also had it that the "Singham Returns" director is in advance talks with the lead actors and is in the final stage of drafting the film's script. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.
Earlier, speculations were made that Kajol was approached to feature opposite the "Happy New Year" actor.
If the deal with Bachchan is sealed, the film would definitely rule the box office as Shetty-Khan has already made a record-breaking success with "Chennai Express" and SRK-Bachchan jodi will be a cherry on the cake for the fans.
Meanwhile, the former Miss World will make her comeback in Sanjay Gupta's directorial "Jazbaa". The film will go on floors by early next year and will have Irfan Khan in the lead role opposite the actress.
On the other hand, Khan is now busy with his "SLAM! The Tour" along with the entire cast and crew of "Happy New Year". The film also features Deepika Padukone and is slated to release worldwide on 24 October.
