Filmmaker R Balki's lucky charm Amitabh Bachchan has featured in most of his films. The recent buzz is that the "Ki and Ka" director is coming up with another project, in which he might attempt at reuniting the "Cheeni Kum" team by casting Amitabh and Tabu in the lead roles.
"Balki is working on a very emotional subject and it is different from what he has made in the past. The idea was shared with Big B and he has tentatively given a go-ahead. Mr Bachchan has many commitments and he will allot the dates accordingly. However, he is still to hear the final script and Balki will start work on it soon," Deccan Chronicle quoted a source as saying.
Big B also featured in a cameo role in Balki's latest release "Ki and Ka." The "Piku" actor starred in Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan's film along with wife Jaya Bachchan. It will be interesting to see him in a lead role in Balki's next, which might also star Tabu.
"For this specific role in question, many senior actresses have shown interest. But Tabu may end up doing it. If that happens, Tabu and Amitabh will share screen space again for the first time after 'Cheeni Kum'," an insider told Deccan Chronicle.
"Cheeni Kum" had garnered appreciation from all corners and fans had heaped praises on Amitabh and Tabu's performance. Like "Ki and Ka," the 2007 release was also based on a unique story. Balki showed a love story between a 64-year-old man and 34-year-old woman.
Meanwhile, Balki is flying high with the success of Arjun and Kareena-starrer. Amitabh, on the other hand, is busy shooting for Ribhu Dasgupta's "Te3n," while Tabu has won hearts with her brilliant performance in her last two films – "Haider" and "Fitoor."
