Akshay Kumar, who will soon be seen as a fighter in his upcoming movie "Brothers", will make a film on the drug menace in Punjab and its impact on the youth of the state.
The actor made the announcement while promoting "Brothers" at a university in Punjab recently.
"Punjab youth is falling prey to drugs. Keeping this in mind, I am working on a film which will be based on drug menace in the state. Very soon I will come out with the blueprint of this movie," Hindustan Times quoted Akshay Kumar as saying.
The upcoming film "Udta Punjab" starring Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor is also based on the same topic.
The actor, who is known for his fitness and action skills, also stressed on the importance of sports and martial arts, while interacting with the college students.
"Brothers", which stars Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez along with Akshay Kumar, is all about "emotional bonding in relationships".
Jacqueline Fernandez also stated that both Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra were very supportive and it was great shooting for "Brothers". Sidharth Malhotra said he had to undergo intensive training to play the role of a wrestler.
Directed by Karan Malhotra, "Brothers" is the official remake of Hollywood flick "Warrior" and is slated to release on 14 August, 2015. Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra will be seen as brothers who eventually fight against each other, while Jacqueline Fernandez plays the role of Akshay's wife. The film also features Jackie Shroff.
