South Indian movies have been in demand in Bollywood for the last few years. The dubbed action-oriented masala films from Tamil, Telugu and Kannada have generated a lot of buzz on TV.

Now, the market for South Indian films in Bollywood has increased. SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali" simultaneously released its dubbed versions along with the original version in theatres and it received positive response.
Following the footsteps of "Baahubali", Ilayathalapathy Vijay's forthcoming movie "Puli" is also getting ready to release in Bollywood simultaneously with Tamil and Telugu versions. The latest edition to the list is Ajith's forthcoming movie, which is curently being called "Thala 56".
The buzz is that the makers have plans to dub in Bollywood, but it is not clear whether it will simultaneously be released in Hindi along with the original Tamil version. So far, Ajith's several films, including "Arrambam", which was dubbed as "Player Ek Khiladi", have been released in Bollywood. But, most of the films were directly played on TV and not released in theatres.
But, his latest movie "Thala 56" is likely to be released in limited number of screens across North India, say reports. The Hindi dubbing rights have not been sold yet. It requires a big banner from B-town to take over the movie in order to make it big.
Karan Johar's presence had helped "Baahubali" to reach out to a large section of audience. And, the rights of "Puli" have been acquired by Pankaj Nihalani, producer and Censor Board Chief who is expected to market the film well in Hindi.
The makers of "Thala 56" want to release the flick around Diwali. The movie is currently busy in post-production stages and it has ample time to finish the work.
"Thala 56" has been written and directed by Siruthai Siva. Shruti Haasan plays the female lead in the movie, which has Lakshmi Menon, Kabir Duhan Singh and Rahul Dev in key roles.
