Ajith's next project "Thala 56," which is in the pre-production stage, is in the news once again. Latest update about the film is that the Ajith starrer will be produced by A.M. Ratnam.
Earlier, there was buzz that Lingusamy's Thirrupathi Brothers might produce the project, but latest reports have emerged claiming that Ratnam will be funding the film. If the reports are true, it will be a hat-trick for Ajith-AM Ratnam.
Ajith's "Arrambam" was produced by Ratnam and his upcoming film "Thala 55" is also being funded by the producer. "Thala 56" will be his third project in association with Ajith.
The film will be directed by Siruthai Siva, who is teaming up with thala for the second time after "Veeram." The director is currently firming the script for "Thala 56" in a bid to ensure that it meets the expectations of the audience post the overwhelming response that "Veeram" received.
"Thala 56" is expected to go on floors after Ajith completes his current project "Thala 55" with director Gautham Menon.
Of late, there have been speculations about the cast and crew of "Thala 56." Buzz is that bubbly actress Hansika has been chosen to play the female lead, but director Siva denied the news terming it as a rumour.
"Nothing has been finalised yet. We have not yet zeroed in on anyone. These are rumours being spread online. Haniska in not playing the female lead," Siva told Deccan Chronicle.
Santhanam is confirmed to play a pivotal role in "Thala 56," but details about the other cast members and crew are yet to be revealed.
There will be big expectations from the Ajith-Siva film as the last release "Veeram" performed well at the box office. Their new project is also expected to be a commercial entertainer with loads of action as Siva is well-known for making such films. It will be interesting to see if the director-actor duo could the recreate the "Veeram" magic once again.
"Thala 56" is expected to hit screens during 2015 Diwali festival period.
