After the record-breaking success of "Naagin," the makers of the supernatural show are gearing up for its second instalment. "Naagin 2" is expected to hit the small screen some time at the end of September and the viewers are eagerly waiting for it to go on air.
Mouni Roy, who played the protagonist in the first season, will continue essaying the lead role. The latest buzz is that the gorgeous actress will be seen in a double role. Mouni will not just reprise her role as Shivanya, but will also play her own daughter, Shivangi, in "Naagin 2," the Times of India reported.
This piece of news will surely excite the fans, as they will be treated to a double dose of their favourite actress.
In the first season, Arjun Bijlani had played the role of both father and son. However, in the second instalment of the popular show, Arjun will be replaced by a new male lead. Apparently, Shakti Arora of "Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi" is likely to be paired opposite Mouni.
Recently, Arjun was asked in an interview if he was disappointed about not being a part of Season 2, to which the actor said that "Naagin 2" is a different story and if it succeeds in winning hearts, he might return with "Naagin 3."
Besides Mouni, "Naagin 2" will see Adaa Khan and Sudha Chandran reprising their roles of Sesha and Yamini, respectively. Also, Aashka Goradia, who entered the show in the finale of the first season, will play a pivotal role in "Naagin 2." Rumour has it that popular actor Nandish Sandhu has also been taken on board as Vikram Bhanupratap Singh for the new season.
