Looks like director Saji Surendran and Anoop Menon share a special bond. The duo, who has earlier teamed up for "Angry Babies" (2014) and "She Taxi" (yet to release), is now set for their next project titled "Puluvan Mathai".
Though it was earlier reported that Saji will have Mammootty in his next, the latest news has cleared these rumours. Some reports suggest that Mammootty's had opted out of the movie because of his busy schedule and prior commitments.
Meanwhile "Puluvan Mathai" is touted to be a satirical comedy, which revolves around the life of the title character Mathai. The film will narrate the present day political scenario in Kerala with a comic twist. This comedy entertainer is scripted by Krishna Poojapura.
"Our next venture, which is scheduled to start on April 1, is titled Puluvan Mathai, and Anoop will play the lead role. This is for the first time that we are trying out a political satire. Anoop plays the title character of Mathew aka Puluvan Mathai, who is a habitual liar, but manages to easily fool people around him. How the protagonist who works in a horse stable in Dubai enters Kerala politics forms the rest of the story," Krishna told The Times of India
"It's not about hard core politics; the story-line is simple and the audience across age groups will be able to understand and enjoy it. Moreover, it will be easy to relate to the character of Puluvan Mathai," added the script writer
Meanwhile, the team is currently busy with shooting of "She Taxi" in North India and has announced that the shooting of "Puluvan Mathai" will kick start once "She Taxi" has been wrapped up. "She Taxi", which also stars Kavya Madhavan in the lead, is also one of the most awaited movies of the year.
