The popularity of Kapil Sharma's new show "The Kapil Sharma Show" (TKSS) is increasing day by day with Bollywood celebrities preferring his show to Krushna Abhishek's show "Comedy Nights Bachao." Earlier, Akshay Kumar decided to promote "Rustom" on Kapil's show and now Hrithik Roshan has decided to do the same.
Akshay and Hrithik both refused to appear on Krushna's "Comedy Nights Bachao," but they gave their nod to promote their films on Kapil's show. Hrithik along with "Mohenjo Daro" actress Pooja Hegde and director Ashutosh Gowariker will promote the film on the show. The "Mohenjo Daro" special episode will be shot on Aug. 2, Spotboye reported.
"Rustom" and "Mohenjo Daro" are set to clash at the box office on Aug. 12, but that won't happen with the episodes of "The Kapil Sharma Show." "Mohenjo Daro" special episode will air before the film's release, i.e. on Aug. 7. On the other hand, Akshay will shoot for the episode with Ileana D'Cruz and Esha Gupta on Aug. 5, which will air post "Rustom" release, i.e. on Aug. 14.
Before Akshay and Hrithik, "Dishoom" stars Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and John Abraham refused to promote their film on "Comedy Nights Bachao." "There is a very strong buzz about 'Dishoom' and nonsensical insult is the last thing that the film's team wants," a source told Spotboye.
The reason for celebrities not promoting films is said to be the format of the show, where Bharti Singh, Krushna and other members take digs at the guests. Even Krushna's uncle Govinda chose to make an appearance on Kapil's show. This move irked Krushna, as he was trying to get his Chi Chi mama on his show, but the two later sorted out their issues.
