A huge explosion took place in Kabul on Friday, targeting a restaurant frequented by Afghan officials and foreign diplomats in the Qala-e-Fathullah neighbourhood, said reports.
The blast, believed to have been caused by a car bomb, has appeared to have hit the Le Jardin restaurant, Reuters quoted an official as saying.
No casualties have been reported so far. Foreign embassies and government buildings are said to be located in the nearby district.
On Monday, a person was killed and 33 others injured in a Taliban suicide attack near Kabul airport.
The development comes as delegates from Afghanistan, Pakistan, the US and China are scheduled for a meeting in Islamabad on 11 January to discuss starting talks with the Taliban.
