At least nine people, including 8 children, were killed in a blast inside a madrassa in Afghanistan's Parwan province on Tuesday.
The head of Parwan Ulema Council, Mawlawi Abdul Rahim Shah Hanafi, was killed in the explosion, according to TOLO News.
The explosive device was reportedly placed inside a classroom in the madrassa and was detonated early morning on Tuesday while the students were in the class.
Officials said more students were injured in the explosion. The number of injured is not confirmed yet.
No militant group has taken responsibility for the blast yet.
A deadly attack was carried out on a hospital in Kabul in March, which resulted in death of 38 people and more than 70 others, including patients, were wounded in the attack. The assault lasted for over six hours.
Gunmen had entered Sardar Muhammad Daud Khan Hospital in the Afghan capital, disguised as doctors, in white coats and opened indiscriminate fire.
