Mohun Bagan went atop Group G of AFC Cup 2016, Wednesday, after a tremendous show against South China in the their second game of the competition at the Mongkok Stadium, Hong Kong.
Lenny Rodrigues opened the scoring for the away side in the 15th minute and Sony Norde and Cornell Glen tripled the lead by scoring in the 39th and the 45th minute respectively. The icing on the cake for the Indian side was decorated by Indian forward Jeje Lalpekhlua, whose goal in the 82nd minute secured a 4-0 win for Mohun Bagan.
Apart from those four players, it was Katsumi Yusa whose tireless display to create chances after chances helped Sanjoy Sen's side get six vital points with a better goal difference from two games of AFC Cup 2016.
South China was reduced to ten men in the 16th minute of the match as Che Runqui was given marching orders following a crunching challenge on Pronay Haldar.
In the other match of the Group Wednsday, it was a 1-1 draw between Maziya and Yangon United.
