Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM) has grossed nearly Rs 170 crore at the worldwide box office in its opening week and is fast inching towards Rs 200 crore mark. The makers call it a phenomenal success.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma, has been made with a budget of Rs 72 crore and Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios have bankrolled it. Released in theatres on October 28, the movie has collected Rs 114.55 crore in India and Rs 54.71 crore in the international markets in the first week of its release.
Despite clashing with Ajay Devgn's Shivaay, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has collected a total of Rs 169.26 crore gross at the worldwide box office in the first week. The bosses of Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios are all thrilled over its superb performance at the ticket counters. They are all thanks for fans for their support.
Vijay Singh, the CEO of Fox Star Studios says that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a runaway hit at the box office. "ADHM had a tremendous week one and we are thankful to the audiences for celebrating love this Diwali with this Karan Johar entertainer. The film has been a runaway hit with the audiences worldwide, making close to Rs 170 crore gross in just one week, which is absolutely phenomenal," Vijay told IANS.
The makers are confident that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will continue to rock the box office in the second week too. "Overseas the film has been a smash hit with week one coming just under Salman Khan's 'Sultan'. We are expecting a strong second weekend worldwide. It is great to have a hit during Diwali and it validates that great love stories is what people want to watch during festive season," Vijay Singh added.
