Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM) and Shivaay (Shivay) continued to make good collection at the Indian box office on their ninth day and Karan Johar's film continued to have an edge over Ajay Devgn's movie on its second Saturday.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had bigger opening and it lead the race at the Indian box office in the first weekend, beating Shivaay. However, the latter surprised everyone in the film industry, by showing massive jump on the weekdays. The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer topped the domestic business chart in the opening week. But the growth of Shivaay made every feel that it would lead the race in the coming days.
Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM) did not have competitors in their second week as there were no big ticket releases either from Hindi or any other Indian regional language films. Hollywood film Doctor Strange was the only threat for both these movies. Trade analysts from B-Town predicted that both of them would continue to rock the Indian box office in their second week.
When compared to its opening day business, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had a steep decline of 65.72 percent in its collection Indian box office on its second Friday. The film added Rs 4.56 crore to its eight-day domestic net total - Rs 84.75 crore. On other hand, Shivaay witnessed around 55 percent, when compared to its first day collection and it added Rs 4.61 crore to its eight-day net total - Rs 75.02 crore.
Both the movies showed jump in their collection on their second Saturday, but the Karan Johar-directed film had once again an upper hand in the growth. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil made better collection than Shivaay at the Indian box office on Saturday
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is estimated to have collected Rs 5.85 crore at the Indian box office on its second Saturday, taking its nine-day domestic net collection to Rs 90.60 crore. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#ADHM has 28.29% jump on Week 2 Sat... Nearing ₹ 100 cr mark... [Week 2] Fri 4.56 cr, Sat 5.85 cr. Total: ₹ 90.60 cr. India biz."
Shivaay has collected approximately Rs 5.40 crore at the Indian box office on its second Saturday, taking its nine-day domestic net collection to Rs 80.42 crore. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#Shivaay has 17.14% growth on Week 2 Sat... Single screens STRONG... [Week 2] Fri 4.61 cr, Sat 5.40 cr. Total: ₹ 80.42 cr. India biz."
