Bollywood has set a trend in remaking films, which sometimes prove to be blockbusters. Mostly, Hindi film directors makes remakes from South Indian films or Hollywood movies.
Here are the old Bollywood films which are to be remade in the coming months.
"Ae Dil Hai Mushkil"
There were reports that Karan Johar's next "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" is a remake of Rishi Kapoor's 1977 film "Doosara Aadmi". The upcoming film will feature Ranbir Kapoor, who will slip into his father's shoes. Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have also been cast for this film.
"Khoon Bhari Maang"
Rakesh Roshan directorial "Khoon Bhari Maang" is rumoured to have a remake soon. Reportedly, Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone will play the role of yesteryear actress Rekha. The film was a remake of Australian television drama "Return To Eden".
"Khalnayak"
Bollywood's ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is said to remake Subash Ghai's 1993 directorial "Khalnayak" soon. The Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit starrer was a hit at the box office and also, was remade in Telugu and Tamil. However, Bhansali said that the film will not be the exact copy of the original but will be an adaptation to suit today's audience.
"Ram Lakhan"
Last year, director Karan Johar announced through his micro-blogging site that he is associating with Rohit Shetty for the remake of Subash Ghai's 1989 blockbuster "Ram Lakhan."
"Here's the big announcement! Rohit Shetty & Karan Johar, in association with Mukta Arts, present RAM LAKHAN in 2016," Johar had tweeted.
Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit and Dimple Kapadia were the star cast of the original.
"Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi"
After 12 years, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Devdas" Jodi, Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, will make a comeback. They will appear in Rohit Shetty's remake of Kishore Kumar and Madhubala 1958 starrer "Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi."
