Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has completed four weeks in the theatres and has crossed Rs 250 crore mark at the worldwide box office. It has becomes Ranbir Kapoor's second highest grosser.
The film, also starring Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, has collected Rs 112.14 crore nett at the Indian box office by the end of 30 days. The day-wise breakup of week 4 is: Rs 21 lakh (Friday), Rs 40 lakh (Saturday), Rs 52 lakh (Sunday), Rs 20 lakh (Monday), Rs 19 lakh (Tuesday), Rs 21 lakh (Wednesday), Rs 20 lakh (Thursday). In the overseas market, the romantic drama has raked in $12.4 million (Rs 84.82 crore) at the in four weeks. Adarsh claims the movie to be a superhit overseas. "#ADHM - OVERSEAS - Total after Week 4: $ 12.4 million [₹ 84.82 cr]. SUPER HIT in Overseas!," the trade analyst said.
With this, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is inching towards Rs 250 crore mark at the worldwide box office with a collection of approximately Rs 238.5 crore gross by the end of four weeks.
It has become Karan's highest grosser as a filmmaker and Ranbir's second highest grosser after Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013). "#ADHM [Week 4] emerges Ranbir Kapoor's *second highest* grosser, after #YJHD... KJo's *highest* grosser, as director... HIT... India biz," Adarsh tweeted.
Despite the demonetisation drive, the film continued to bring in the numbers. Films like Rock On 2, Force 2, which were initially believed to slow down Ae Dil Hai Mushkil's collection, didn't quite affect KJo's film. However, with Dear Zindagi releasing on Friday, November 25, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is likely to wrap up its lifetime collection.
