Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM) and Ajay Devgn's Shivaay (Shivay) remained steady at the Indian box office on second Friday after their release. Both the films collected huge amounts at the Indian box office by the end of the eighth day.
However, Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's film continues to remain ahead of the action-thriller in terms of the figures.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil raked in Rs 4.56 crore on Friday, thereby taking its eighth day Indian box office collection to Rs 84.75 crore net. "#ADHM [Week 2] Fri 4.56 cr. Total: ₹ 84.75 cr. India biz," Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
After a grand opening weekend, the movie witnessed an impressive jump on Monday and Tuesday, mostly because of holidays and the positive word-of-mouth publicity. However, its collections dipped considerably on the following days.
Shivaay, on the other hand, is going strong at the domestic market, but witnessed a dip in its business on the second Friday. The film collected Rs 4.61 crore, thereby taking its eighth day domestic box office collection to Rs 75.2 crore net. "#Shivaay [Week 2] Fri 4.61 cr. Total: ₹ 75.02 cr. India biz," Adarsh tweeted.
Despite the clash, Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil are doing considerably well, managing to draw the audience to the theatres. Both the films are expected to witness a steady run in the second weekend as well, considering that no big ticket movies are getting released until next week (November 11) when Rock On 2 opens in theatres.
