The advance booking of Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year" was supposed to start on Sunday, but it has now been reportedly postponed.
The much awaited film of the year "Happy New Year" starring SRK, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah will release on Friday.
Advance booking of the film generally opens five days before its release, but "Happy New Year" advance booking has been delayed by two days.
According to reports, the advance booking will start from Wednesday, two days before the film's release, instead of Sunday.
Apparently, Yash Raj Films, which has acquired the distribution rights of the film, has sent a mail to exhibitors in Mumbai to start the open the pre-booking counter only on Wednesday, Boxofficecapsule.com reported.
The trade website further reported the YRF is yet to receive advance amount from cinemas, which is why the production house has stalled the pre-booking of the film.
YRF has purchased the worldwide distribution rights of SRK's grand Diwali release for approximately 125 crore, Bollywood Hungama reported in April this year.
But, it's not only in Mumbai, but also in National Capital Region (NCR), Pune, Chennai, Kolkata and other places where the advance booking is not yet started.
The pre-booking counter is opened only in one theatre in Bangalore and Hyderabad each and tickets are almost sold out in both of them.
Meanwhile, the delay in the pre-booking status of "Happy New Year" film has disappointed the movie-goers, who were eagerly waiting it to open on Sunday.
Here is what fans of the film have posted on Twitter:
