"The compounding complexity of work has never been more pressing. As the number of mobile devices and the use of cloud services surge, information workers must be empowered to work more effectively with documents anywhere on any device," Adobe Managing Director (South Asia) Umang Bedi said told Press Trust of India.
Besides this, the company also aims to provide a strong support to IT departments with its features like Microsoft Office and SharePoint integration, easy deployment, and applications virtualization.
The latest version of Acrobat XI is enhanced to work with different mobile platforms and will thus allow users to work with PDF files on smartphones and tablets. The files can be saved in Microsoft Excel or Word format and users can also edit the file without reformatting it to PDF. The files saved or created in Microsoft Excel, Word or Powerpoint format cannot be edited or copied without user’s permission.
“To help keep Indian businesses globally competitive, we see our customers focusing on boosting collaboration, extending infrastructure so employees can be just as productive on tablets and smartphones as they are on laptops, and investing to make their business secure in an increasingly digital and complex environment. Acrobat has been a trusted desktop solution for leading organizations across the country for many years, and the release of Acrobat XI will continue to help address productivity challenges and boost organizational efficiency,” Bedi said.
The current users of Adobe service will be allowed to upgrade to the latest version for a particular charge. Otherwise, Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Pro are likely to be priced ₹19,227 and ₹28,803 respectively, while Acrobat Reader is available for free download. The consignment of the latest software will start in October.
