Congress president Sonia Gandhi warned media organizations on Saturday against showing favoritism for the Opposition on the issue of corruption.
While referring to corruption allegations against BJP ministers in Gujarat, home turf of prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Sonia said, "I would ask media to look at other states led by other parties on corruption, look at us by all means but also look at others."
Congress high command reacted while speaking on the graft charges leveled against her party leaders in Maharashtra by a judicial commission report on Adarsh housing scam.
Maharashtra Cabinet had rejected the report on 20 December, which was thoroughly criticized by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Friday.
"Personally, I don't agree with that decision. They (Maharashtra government) should reconsider that. There is no question of protecting anybody. They should reconsider," Rahul said this at a press conference in the presence of Congress CMs including Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan.
A day after, his mother and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi said, "That (report on Adarsh scam) has been decided yesterday, it is going to be resolved."
The judicial commission led by retired judge J A Patil had indicted former state chief ministers of Maharashtra, including Sushilkumar Shinde, who is currently the Union Home Minister, and Vilasrao Deshmukh, who died last year after battling with liver cancer.
