Actress Trisha Krishnan got engaged to entrepreneur and film producer Varun Manian at his residence in Chennai on Friday, 23 January.
The engagement was a grand affair and several film celebrities including Kamal Haasan, Gauthami, Ramya Krishnan, Maniratnam, Suhasini, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Amala Paul and Ramya Krishnan were present.
The function was a traditional affair with the couple exchanging garlands and rings. Both Trisha and Varun looked cute in their respective attires. (check pictures below). Playback singer Vinaya performed live at the engagement ceremony.
Singer Chinmayi wished the couple on their engagement. "I wish Trisha and Varun the happiest life together. Such a lovely, intimate, meaningful ceremony. Super happy for Uma aunty," Chinmayi tweeted.
In January first week, Trisha had announced that she will be getting engaged to her boyfriend Varun. Since the announcement, the actress and Varun, producer of "Vaayai Moodi Pesavum" have been making headlines in media.
A few days ago, there were rumours doing the rounds that Varun will be gifting Trisha a Rolls Royce car for the engagement. But, the producer denied the reports and clarified on the same.
"Guys, if you really want to know what Trisha's engagement gift is. We will be feeding 1000's of animals through our engagement weekend and shelter & medical treatment for a whole year. I'm sure Trish values this much more than a Rolls Royce :) which is a silly rumour," Varun tweeted.
Varun's father has revealed that the wedding will take place in latter part of the year, reported Sify. An official announcement of the wedding date is still awaited.
Trisha has confirmed that she does not intend to quit films and will continue to take up projects. She began her career as a model and later enterted the film industry with the 1999-release "Jodi" in which she did a small role. Her first Tamil film as a lead heroine was the 2002-release "Mounam Pesiyadhe."
Since then, she has starred in several Tamil and Telugu films opposite top lead actors. Some of her notable films include "Saami", "Abhiyum Naanum", "Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana", "Ghilli", "Varsham" and "Mankatha" among others.
The actress is currently awaiting the release of Ajith-starrer "Yennai Arindhaal" and Jayam Ravi's "Bhoologam". She will also be seen in a Telugu film titled "Lion" opposite Balakrishna. Besides these films, the actress will be committing to two new films.
