Actress Sridevi, who is currently shooting for her untitled Tamil movie, which stars Vijay in the lead, has lauded the team's efforts and love that is being showered on her.
On her Twitter page, the actress recalled her good old days in Chennai and added that she has learned so much from the new generation of filmmakers.
"In Chennai shooting for a new Tamil film. Brings back so many memories of first day of shoot as a child actor. Thank you Chennai for all the love n warmth you have always given me. It feels great to be back. Working with today's generation of actors & technicians who r totally professional & focused is inspiration 4 me. So much to learn from them," Sridevi wrote on her Twitter page.
The Bollywood actress made her debut as a child artiste at the age of four in the Tamil movie "Thunaivan" where she did the role of young Lord Muruga. She later went on to become a popular child artiste in almost all South Indian languages and became the most celebrated heroine of the Indian cinema.
The actress had taken a break from her acting career after her marriage to director Boney Kapoor in 1996 and made a sensational comeback with the Hindi film "English Vinglish". Her last Tamil movie was "Naan Adimai Illai" (1986) and all her Tamil fans are expecting her to make another marvellous comeback with "Vijay 58".
"Vijay 58" is director Chimbudevan's magnum opus period drama made with a budget of ₹90 crore. The film's shooting kick-started on 12 November and has Hansika Motwani, Shruthi Haasan, Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep in pivotal roles. The shooting of the Vijay starrer began in a palatial set made in Adityaran Studios in Chennai where a song sequence is being shot. Reportedly, over 300 dancers from Mumbai and Bangalore will be part of the song.
Sources close to the movie suggest that Vijay will be spotted in a gladiator look in the movie. Hansika will play the role of a princess and Sridevi will be seen as a queen, who is also Hansika and Sudeep's mother. Sudeep will portray the antagonist role of the commander of the kingdom.
