In a tragedy which sent shock waves across Sandalwood, actress Rega Sindhu was killed in a road accident early on Friday, 5 May. The incident occurred on Chennai-Bengaluru national highway at Sunnampukuttai village near Pernambut, Tamil Nadu.
Reports of 'Kannada actress Rekha Krishnappa death in a road accident' are fake
Rega Sindhu with her friends was on her way to Bengaluru. As per the reports, six people were with Rega in her car when it rammed into a median around 1.30 am. It appears that the driver's drowsiness caused the accident. The actress died on the spot, while the others were to taken to nearby government hospital. Police are still investigating the case.
Rega Sindhu, daughter of Paulraj, was in Chennai on an model assignment. She was 22 and a resident of Banaswadi in Bengaluru. Her final rites will be performed on Saturday, 6 May.
Meanwhile, a section of the Tamil media misreported that Kannada actress Rekha Krishnappa was killed in the accident, leading to confusion. It was the actress who gave a clarification on her Facebook page by posting, "There is a rumour about me today of an accident, I am fine in sringeri seeking sharadhambas blessings. Not to worry. [sic]"
