Versatile Tamil star Sathyaraj has revealed that no actor in Kollywood will ever become the chief minister again in Tamil Nadu. The 'Kanaa' actor made these remarks in an exclusive chat with Manorama News. When the reporter asked about Kamal Haasan's political entry, Sathyaraj said that film stars are entering politics just because they dream the chief minister's chair.
"In my 41-year career, politics has never lured me. Actually, we are not worthy to become a chief minister as it demands sheer dedication and sacrifice. From the beginning, we should travel with the people, should understand their problems. Just because of cinema popularity, if anybody wishes to become the Chief Minister, it is not a right practice. Actors politics is always aimed at becoming the CM, and they don't want to serve people," said Sathyaraj.
During the talk, Sathyaraj revealed that Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan is a man of integrity. He also expressed his wish to have a communist Chief Minister in Tamil Nadu. The actor made it clear that communist leaders like the 95-year-old Nalla Kannayya are much deserving to become the Chief Minister than these film heroes.
"I respect very much Pinarayi Vijayan sir. He is a really good politician. He is a very good ideologist. Like him, there are many people in Tamil Nadu too. We should not choose chief minister from the film industry. For example, there is a great leader Nalla Kannaiyya. He is 95-years-old, and he is a communist leader. I want these communist leaders to rule the state, don't know whether it is possible or not," added Sathyaraj.
Sathyaraj is now awaiting the release of his new movie 'Party' directed by Venkat Prabhu. In this film, Sathyaraj is playing a comic character named Ironfist Ayyanar. Apart from Sathyaraj, the film also stars Jayaram, Jai, Shaam, Shiva and Nasser in other prominent roles.
