South Indian actor Sarathkumar has been hospitalised at Apollo Hospital in Chennai on Thursday, June 23. The initial reports had it that the actor was admitted to the hospital after he complained of chest pain while working out in the gym; however, his wife Radhika Sarathkumar has now come forward slamming the news.
According to Radhika, the 61-year-old actor is keeping well and was hospitalised due to food poisoning and muscled spasm. "Do not believe the false news that is spreading. Sarath is fine! Just down with food poisoning and a muscle spasm [sic]," Radhika tweeted on the micro-blogging site.
Sarathkumar, who began his acting career in 1986 in the Telugu film "Samajamlo Sthree," has made a mark in all the South Indian languages and has acted in more than 130 movies in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada movies. He has served as the president of the South Indian Film Artistes' Association from 2006 to 2015. However, the last 12 months have been a tough phase for him after he lost in the general assembly and the Nadigar Sangam elections. He will be next seen in the Kannada project "Santheyalli Nintha Kabira."
Meanwhile, his daughter Varalaxmi is making her acting debut in Malayalam in the Mammootty-starrer "Kasaba," which is expected to hit the screens during the festive season of Ramadan in July. The actress' photos from the movie have already gone viral on social media.
